Re: Milonic works on one site not another in same IE 6 brows

Andy, Thanks for the reply. I clearly remember a time when the Milonic left nav tool would perform very slowly if it was not hsoted from the URL that it was registered for. Am I losing my mind? Sounds like it. Maybe I am confused with another product. The issue is not resolved. This user can see the...

Re: Milonic works on one site not another in same IE 6 brows

As far as I can tell we are using version 5.728. I don't have the time to follow Milonic's various versioning. We are also using it in a somewhat unstandard way which to my knowledge can cause us problems in IE on the Mac, but we have chosen not to support that. If anyone can offer some real advice ...

Re: Milonic works on one site not another in same IE 6 brows

John, Thanks for the input. but I don't think the code has anything to do with the error we are receiveing. If it was the code, we would see the problem on both sites. I can replicate the problem they are having by turning off javascript on my browser. Unfortunetaly, we have verified that javascript...

Milonic works on one site not another in same IE 6 browser?

We have a client on IE 6.0 PC.

The left nav works on the staging site:

http://216.133.72.219/

but does not work in the same browser and machine on:

http://www.alexanders.net/

How could this be?

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Multiple Menus on a Page - Table Layout

I currently create my menu like the following: <SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="nav/milonic_src.js" type="text/javascript"></SCRIPT> <SCRIPT language=JavaScript> if(ns4)_d.write("<scr"+"ipt language=JavaScript src=nav/mmenuns4.js><\/scr"+"ipt>"); els...

Hmm . . . The only weird thing going on is that I am including everything except the basic content area. I am including them using .net user controls. In this case this is not much different than using server side includes or asp includes or any kind of include. There is no 'logic' at this point. Ju...

Ruth, I tried the following with the pageimage attribute, but I saw no result. Maybe I am not following you. I am using all images in my nav so the background colors of tables cells etc. will not help me much. with(milonic=new menuname("ourHistory")){ style=subMenuStyle; aI("image=../...

On State for image in nav

I would like to set the on state of images in my left nav so that if you are on the page the image is highlighted. I have done this in the past with milonic navs that are just text by using the onbgcolor attribute in the style. Can't seem to find where to set the on image. Here is an example of one ...

No, this is still not fixed. Ruth, thank you for the clarification. That is what was confusing me. John, you're running a little state-of-the-art there. I'm dealing with real people. No nav is displaying at all on 10.2.8/5.2 and 10.1.5/5.1 Maz, Kevin's instructions are not that clear. Remember you g...

Re:Milonic and Mac IE (Yes I read the FAQ)

I don't understand when you say to put the drawMenus(); in the bottom of the data.js. If I do that the nav does not render at all. Also, both the faq and sample show the drawMenus(); after the main menu. So . . . I tried my best to follow your instructions but I still must have something wrong: http...

Re:Milonic and Mac IE (Yes I read the FAQ)

OK, now I'm in a gray area. I have never positioned one of these menus absolutely! Thought I was doing things right here, but apparently not: http://www.unionboxcompany.com/staging/test.html and http://www.unionboxcompany.com/staging/leftnav/data.js I write drawmenus() at the bottom of the html only...

Re: Milonic and Mac IE (Yes I read the FAQ)

The left attribute definetaly changed things on the PC, but nothing on the mac.

I am going to resort to absolute positioning for Mac/IE only. I don't trust absolute positioning . . . I'm old school ;)

BTW - Doesn't this problem exist in Safari? If so, this problem is not obsolete.

RE: Milonic and Mac IE (Yes I read the FAQ)

Maz, Thanks for all the info. Yes the problem is the strong offset to the right in everything mac. I tried the things you mentioned: 1) No positive affect with 5.1 2) Removed uneccesary quotes and style attributes 3) Tried the offset things you mentioned. I don't see offset as a valid style attribut...

Milonic and Mac IE (Yes I read the FAQ)

I've been staring at this problem off-and-on for two days now and can't figure it out. The menus won't line up no matter what I do. I read the Mac/IE FAQ several times and had a coworker look at it as well. The site I am building is XML driven so I had to build the menu dynamically. It was tricky an...

pagebgcolor attribute not working?

I have a simple menu with only two levels. The main level has one style and the sub menu uses a different style. If I select a submenu link, the submenu link and its parent link changes to the color specified in the pagebgcolor attribute in the styles. If I only click on a main level (or parent) lin...

Force Arrow Always On

How does one force the arrow image to display even if the menu has no submenu?

I would like to always show the arrow for my top level menu items, but only show the arrow for the submenu items if they have another level.

Thanks in advance,
Joe
