Hi again,

I appreciate your check back.

I wanted to see how it looked if the menu was fixed mid screen vertically as you scroll down.
That would put it at about 380 px from the top at page load. The problem I'm having is keeping it at 380 px from the top as you srcoll down rather than at the top ...

the mid screen position placement works on the milonic sample at
http://milonic.com/menusample10.php
when I change "top start position in pixels" to 300 it maintains that posistion as you scroll down but I do not see those corresponding value adjusters in the menu_data.js file.

Bingo and thank you Rurh! You are the best. That little ditty deserves a hooray.
I think that "top" should be an obvious and standard menu item in a following-scrolling menu.
Now I will move on to see if I can figure how to get the menu placement at mid verticle screen and to maintain that posistion ...

Good idea. Let's see if either of the pages work out of my box here. http://www.ariasforhumanity.org
The scroll menu is on 2 test pages. the initial index page and under "menu" the "who we are" page.

#Top doesn't work in Firefox on Scrolling Menu

Thanks Ruth,

That works fine in IE using the same menu.data.js file for all pages.
I still does not work in Firefox ver 1.5.0.8. I cleared the cache and anything else I could think of in Firefox.
Just in case my eyes are missing something...
Here is the current state of the menu.data.js file: and ...

Top of page menu item in scrolling menu?

I put a "Top" in the scrolling menu.
The #top works fine in IE but the menu item is dead in Firefox.
Reloading the page to get to the top seems nuts.
Does anyone have a suggestion.
Thanks

Here is the relevant menu.data.js info. it's the 4th aI

MENU IMAGE-Keep on status 2 indentify location on menu?

btw, to look see, the site is http://www.AriasForHumanity.org

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to keep the check mark image permanantly on when on each respective page to indicate users current page location within the menu?
For example: When on index.htm (HOME) page the check mark would stay ...

The core menu_data.js file is consistent on all pages.

I removed the FLASH from the index page menu and created a 2nd menu with only 1 item in it which is the FLASH and called it menu_data_swf1.
On the 'Who We Are' page I did the same thing and called the second menu 'menu_data_swf2.'

Still lose ...

Sorry..The Who We Are url is now pointing to the correct file.
The secondary menu_date_about.jsp file on the Who We Are page puts me back at the original dilema. Home loses its image attributes on the second page and the submenus of Who We Are are now back in conflict with the main menu_data.jsp ...

g-day ruth,
is the menu_data.jps file propogated through the site from the index page? For example, The "FLASH VISUALS" menu on the index page has 4 sub items to choose from.
On the "Who We Are and What WE Do" page I have added and tested a small IFRAME under the menu and changed the FLASH sub menu ...

The beauty is in the details. Very nice touch. Thank you. It took 30 minutes to find why it still wouldn't work! The gap in the first two lines of the fixMozilla..statement stopped everything in it's tracks. Cleaned that up and voila! Thanks for the creative as well as technical hand.

Hi, thnx, flash concept down pat. I am anxious to see what your examples look like but there seems to be a code error somewhere in the menu_data.js file that you sent as noting displays. Copied the images and have have looked at each line backward and forward and the 3 commented llines are all that ...

Brilliant. I misunderstood. I now see that it is different menu TYPES that require separate files. Quite liked your original suggestion for on buttons to be gold so I tweeked the .data file accordingly. I created white arrows for the off state-white text & arrow on black. I am wondering if it is it ...

Thanks for taking a look Ruth.
Cleaned up per your suggestions and changed the (pagecolor="#d7c786")
It works except on menu 2 and 3.
I tried renaming a good menu to the 2 and 3 positions. That didn't work.
I went over every line of code seeing no difference between the work and don't work. Do you ...

TEXT INVISIBLE in some menu items unless scrolled over.

The contents of some of the menus are invisible in both FF & IE unless scrolled over yet others appear okay.
I am using Firefox to view the progress of menu development and placement.

Note: This page is in the menu format process. CSS in not complete. HTML is not cleaned up or validated. http ...
