Menu not scrolling correctly.

I am building a new site right now and I am hoping to use this menu system, my probem is I am building a framed page. The top of the site will have a 160 pixel high frame, that is where i would like to place the menu and nav.... actually at the bottom of the frame.

Problem is I can not get the menu to scroll the submenus up unstead of down like normal. I have tried realigning where the menu opens at but it just looks wierd. Other then that I absolutly adore your menu, thank you for creating it. Good Job!!

Are you really using v3? That's the section you've posted in. It is no longer supported, and you should move to the new v5 series. See http://milonic.com/.

Like John says, use V5. If you are starting from scratch and you use V3 you'll only have a load of work to do in converting. V5 is much faster and has many other benefits.

Actually I did relise I was useing an older vrs so I did download V5 and tried it. So far I am having the same problem. Though honestly I have not had enough time to truely figure out if there is a simple code i am missing to get it to scroll up the way i am talking about. Unless you guys could tell me real fast what i need to look for.

I went to your www link and saw a menu in the lower frame, using v3. I am guessing you have a test site somewhere using v5. So what you want to do is have the main menu in a top frame (with it positioned at the bottom of the frame) and rather than have the menus open downwards across the frame borders (which v5 does not inherently support) , you want them to open upwards, towards the top of your frames. Hmmm...

Try setting the screen position of the menu to bottom;center (see menu property refernce at milonic.com if you are unsure how) and that should make the menu hug the bottom of the frame. And because its at the bottom, the menus should open upwards. And if they cover the original main menu when they open, chancge your offset property of your submenus so they open themselves alittle higher than where the main menu bar is located.

Hope I understood your question right and gave you a couple ideas. Good luck with your Milonic DHTML Menu, enjoy it!

#1 There is a link to you guys on the menu that I do not see in the codes. Can we remove it?
#2 This one may be awnsered already I jsut havn't finished reading everything on the menu.. but how do we set submenus to the submenus and how deep can they go?
#3 i tried to off set the submenus a couple pixels to the right and they don't seem to want to slide over at all.
I went a head and posted the menu as i have it so far on my site.

Bah! I forgot a question

Can I use CSS codes to change the scroll bar colors in the submenus (I will probably extend to far and they will be used), or will it mess with the codes?

Absolutely not. It's there for a reason.

However, if you purchase at least a Pro license it will be removed automatically on your next download of the code after you get your registration confirmation e-mail.

I am sorry I thought I had already said what my intentions were with this, but I hadn't and I am sorry. I am going to buy the Pro License, I jsut wanted to see if I can get it to work the way I wanted/needed first before I spend the money just to find out I can not use it.
I am sorry about that.
I didn't relise that the link was for the free vrs. actually I thought there was no actuall free vrs. thought it was more like an eval. vrs. of the menu.
Anyhow if there is an awnser to the submenu questions i had I will go ahead and get the License stuff taken care of since I am just about ready to offically go live....

well at least with in the next week

The same way you got the first submenus. Create some more menus in your code (with different names obviously) and then when you want one menu to show another one, you use the showmenu=MenuYouWantToOpen in the menu item. Take a look at the code used in ALL the examples. There really is no limit to the level of menus, besides the memory on the browser (and the patience of your users who have to wait if the menu's are too big).

#3 i tried to off set the submenus a couple pixels to the right and they don't seem to want to slide over at all.

For the first level of submenus, to get them to offset, you have to set their top and left properties a special way. Say you want the submenu to be alittle lower than usual and moved over, you would in that submenu's definition say
top="offset=15";
left="offset=20";
And that would make it show up moved over. Any submenus lower in the hierarchy than that use the global settings at the top of your menu_data file (the ones that are like _topoffset or something to that effect).

And regarding the CSS, I am not sure, I haven't heard of it being done. Anyone try that before? Maybe I will play with it and see if I can get it to work. Andy may know exactly though....

No problem, apology not necessary (and certainly not 3 of them!).

Very pleased to hear you're going to license the Milonic DHTML menu system. It's the best around, and you won't be "sorry".
