Thinking abt purchase one, but ...
hi, i'm thinking abt purchase a vertical dhtml menu from ur site, however, i don't exactly know wat's the differences between a free download one and a purchased one , furthermore, i've been successfully installed and customized a vertical dhtml menu on my website, and i realized that there is a "Milonic Menu" on the second line of the menu , and i looked into the code of all js files, and couldn't find any code that is relate to it. my site is used for a free classified ad site for a canada local market. i would like to advertise http://milonic.com on my website if you guys would help me to remove the Milonic Menu on the menu bar. thanks!
No matter what you do, free, pro, higher, etc, you need a license. You have to actually request one from Milonic. To qualify for a free license, you need to be an educational institution or a charity or something like that...
Now, I am not speaking for Milonic when I say this but I think you need to purchase a pro license. Yes, you dont charge your users to put up classifieds, but you are facilitating some sort of market or transfer of goods for money. There are alot of sites out there that provide a service to people rather than charge them for a product, they can;t be giving free licenses to everybody. Milonic is a business that needs to stay afloat too. Plus, $US34 is not alot of money, that works out to what, 45 bucks Canadian. And its one time, you get help and support from us here on the forum, the link removed, and future upgrades. Sweet deal considering how awesome this DHTML menu is.Milonic Site wrote:Charities, Educational Organizations, Religious Groups, Personal hobby sites and Open Source Software

Further clarification: Does this apply to educational institutions with the free version as well? In other words, are we educ's, with the free version, required to include a link to Milonic?Andy wrote:Hang on a minute.
Just thought I'd better clear one thing up. If you have a Pro license you do not need to link back to us. Only the free licenses need to do this.
Thanks.
Basically the old saying "you get nothing for free" is relevant with menu.
In order for us to justify free licenses we require links to Milonic from any websites using the menu. This includes .edu sites. A plain text link will suffice but this will need to be on the home page or at very least a page with good search engine exposure.
Surely it's the least we can expect for all our hardwork.

Andy,
Thanks for the clarification; I just needed to be certain. I completely understand and agree with you, and have been suprised that the menu has been so readily available (restriction free) without the purchase of a license.
The decision on any purchases, regardless of cost, isn't up to me, and I initailly chose to use your menu because it was free and without much restriction (v.3).
Essentially, we will need to purchase a Pro license.
Again, thanks for all that you've done.
