A problem (with example 14) and a request (for help)

Post by doodleelephant »

The Download for the Hiding DIVs example does not download the divhider.js file. This is annoying. The sample is at http://milonic.com/download.php?sampleid=14 *EDIT-> http://milonic.com/menusample.php?sampleid=14 <-EDIT* I'm not sure where I can get this file. I'll see if I can find it, but it'd be nice if this was fixed and I got the file.
Thanks,

PS: I am currently upgrading to version 5 menu, however I have run into a problem in that I cannot get my menu buttons spread farther apart without creating a repeating picture effect. This is annoying. FYI: I used the LOGIN button from this site to create my buttons, if you'd like, I can switch to a different button, get the arts class to create one or something like that. The site with the upgraded menu (as far as I have it) is at http://www.chills.jordan.k12.ut.us/Index2.htm. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks again for the best menuing system to be found on the web. I searched for probably a week before I found this, and it's by far the best, and a great deal for educational institutions. I will be going through, probably over christmas, and changing all the links to .com instead of .co.uk so don't get alarmed. Thanks.

I can see how the lack of a download link for divhider.js could be frustrating. I'd like to point out, however, that the example page does state that it is a work in progress, so I also think it's understandable that it isn't quite done yet. By examining the page's code, however, I see that it loads /divhider.js. So, this link should allow you to download that file. If that doesn't work, you could try visiting the example page again and then copying divhider.js out of your browser cache. Andy has been made aware of this issue and will correct it when he has a chance.

Regarding the spacing of your menu buttons. You could try putting a "dummy" menu item between each of your button items as a spacer. Your main menu and the style it uses are already set up so that this approach should work. Like so:

Code: Select all

aI("text=;itemheight=10;pointer=default;");
No text. Use the itemheight property to specify the amount of space you want, in px. Setting the pointer property to default should ensure that you don't get a hand pointer when mousing over the spacers. I noticed that you're currently using version 5, RC23. I don't think that release supports the itemheight property, so you might want to download the latest release (currently RC31).

Hope that alleviates what was annoying you ( ;) couldn't resist)

I posted my response apparently by creating a new topic. OOPS! Sometimes I feel like a real idiot. *which is real annoying* ;) The other topic is Jokes are OK, and I believe there's another one. Sorry. Maybe you could move it into this topic.
Sorry for my humanity and clicking the wrong button.
