I'm considering buying Milonic menus. However, I need the menus to appear of Flash objects on various browsers/OS. I know from testing that Milonic menus do not appear over Flash with NS4.7/Win2k. But, I've searched the boards and couldn't find a comprehensive list of browsers/OS that will.
Does someone from Milonic have a list of browsers/OSs in which Milonic menus will appear over Flash? The list can assume I'll use the <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> Flash parameter.
Thank you so much. I hope to buy/use this product depending on the results of the list.

Ok, here are a couple of topics about this.
http://milonic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2983 Believe this is the code written by Kevin to hide the flash and let the menu show over it, originally done for v3 but it says something in here about it being updated for v5.
http://milonic.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ight=flash This refers back to that code but has some modifications and suggestions. There are more. I just searched flash and alternatively divhider.js
http://milonic.com/menusample14.php This is the divhider.js option you can take a look at in this sample. NOTE, when downloaded the sample does NOT include the divhider [think it's because it's still being developed] But, you can get it HERE. I have an applet and the menu drops over it in netscape 4.79, 6, 7, opera 7, firebird .07 and ie 5 and 5.5 which I've tested. I do not have a mac. If you care to test it's at this link [the menu may mess up it's back at rc 31, but I'm updating everything so waiting until I'm done. ]
This site has a flash scroller and uses the divhider.js http://www.citytech.cuny.edu/ The party who was working on it said it works great in MAC ie 5. something. It also works in the browsers I listed plus opera 6
And, here's an explanation of how to code it. http://milonic.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ivhider+js
And one on how to modify it to work in all browsers [not sure if it worked or not] http://milonic.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ivhider+js
Hope that helped.

Hi,
Yes, the site I designed uses the hidediv for hiding the flash movie...Ruth mentioned most of the relevant threads...including this one where someone asks a similar question:
http://milonic.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ivhider+js
Beware - in order to hide the flash menu in NS4 you need to define style postion as relative – if you do this it will create problems in NS6 which will keep the content in the div stationary on browser resize.
I set NS4 up to ignore the milonic menu totally.
Good luck.
