No action for a menu item

Is it possible for a menu item to have no action at all ?

I would like to set up a menu item to be used as padding but I dont want any roll over effects.

I think I have solved it by using type=header in the menu item definition.

I can only suggest 1. you could use type=header; and set the itemheight or width depending on which orientation of the menu you have. If you are using separators then you'll have to try putting in separatorsize=0 in the item itself to eliminate them. If you could explain a bit more about exactly what you want to happen we might be able to help a bit more.
