We have a menu bar which has a number of images in the top bar. We would like to have alt text tags in the same way as <src img=.. has alt text which is used to display text when the graphics are turned off.
Is the tooltips technique the equilivant of alt tags or is a tooltip just a neat javascript display?
Is there another way of entering alt tags into graphics so that alt text is displayed when graphics are turned off?
Have you tried using title="whatever text" It puts out what looks like a little yellow window with whatever text you put in showing up. I tried it in Opera 7.11, Netscape 7.11, Firebird [fox] .07 and IE5.5 and it seemed to work.
