Third try for help with keypress

Post by stephen702 »

I've posted twice before, but haven't heard back on this one.

I have used the Milonic menu for some time now, but cannot for the life of me figure out keypress.js works for the site visitor. There must be some basic principle that I'm missing.

For example, I'm experimenting the Tramline menu sample downloaded from Milonic.

In order to get keypress to move down this menu, I first had to put in a bogus url for each menu item. (I couldn't figure out any other way to get the tab-move to work.)

But as I tab down the menu, keypress doesn't bring up the submenus to the right. How do I make that happen?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance. I'd love to use Milonic on our college website, as well, but the menu would need to be compliant with US govt requirements for disabled access (508 compliance).

Hi,

You need to upgrade your menu version. I just tested your tram page with 5.732 and there were no problems.

Thanks! Frankly, it never even occurred to me that the tram menu might have a new version, in the same way that the main menu has new versions.

I uploaded the new version, but keypress.js is still not working.

Using the TAB key, I get to the second menu item, and then it jumps back to number one, then back to number 2, then back to number one.

The reason must be staring me straight in the face, but I just don't see what it is.

Try downloading the keypress module again. I've tried the tram sample using IE, FF, Netscape and Opera and it is working for me, so I have to think something is wrong in the files. I did download and use a new keypress.js file.

The new keypress.js seems to have done the trick. It's likely that the original file was corrupted.

Thanks for your help and excellent suggestions.
