DHTML Menu...

Post by jking »

I am interested in purchasing the Chart DHTML menu but need some information before proceeding. I don't need the main menu only one of the drop down submenus which I need to come off a text link in our header. Can you please let me know how I would go about doing this.

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

When you purchase the menu, you are entitled to any of the menu samples. In that sample if you only want to use the submenu, you can use replace the data with your own data and have it pop up from the link you want. Try the pop menu sample to see how to do it. This pop function will work with any menu.

If you need more in depth help if you could post a test page showing where you want the menu to popup we'd be glad to help.

Hi Ruth,

Thanks for the information. I followed the instructions and have it working correctly. Can you please let me know how to obtain a licensed version and how to remove the Milonic links.

Thanks again,

James

Hi James,

Try this link for an explanation on the types of licenses available and how to get it.

Hi Ruth,

I submitted payment via PayPal but when I download the Chart menu I am receiving the following message.

The Domain name that this download has been created for is: Unlicensed, license number 1000

I would also be grateful if you could let me know how to remove the Milonic links from the menu.

Thanks again,

James

Hi Ruth,

I'm experiencing a problem with the one sub-menu we have coming off the text link in our header. We need to add quite alot of links to the menu but when we do we can't access the top links in the menu because the place where the menu starts has been pushed to the the top of the page and a number of the links are missing at the top of the menu. Is there anyway of making the top of the menu stay in place so that when a user scrolls down the page they can view all of the links in the menu.

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

Can you give us a url to the page? We need to see it to get an idea of what you want and provide a solution.

As to the license, have you got the licensed version yet? To download the licensed version you have to be logged in on the main site. Sometimes it's just a time issue, time enough for the system to get the new info, i.e. the purchase, recorded. If you are still having a problem, post directly to Milonic. There should be info in your menu packet about contacting them.

Just so you understand, this is a volunteer forum, and none of us that post here work for Milonic. We've just been around since the beta testing and really like the menu. :)

Hi Ruth,

Sorry about the delay in responding. I didn't realise this was a volunteer forum, so thank you for your help. I tried contacting Milonic via their contact form but didn't receive a reply. The menu downloads from my account still seem to be unlicensed, so I sent another email off, hopefully I get a reply this time.

I will send the URL to you by private message, the menu I setup is off the "Browse Channels" link at the top of the page.

Thanks again,

James

Hi,

I can't find any menu coming off a text link. Where is that, or if you've removed it where is it supposed to be?

Hi,

That menu is longer than the browser window at 800x600 so it's shifting to try and fit it in. Add overflow="scroll"; to the links menu, it will then add a scroll bar when it is necessary and no scroll bar when there's enough room.

Code: Select all

with(milonic=new menuname("Links")){
style=menuStyle;
overflow="scroll";

Hi James,

Has the license issue been resolved?

I noticed you said paypal, did you follow the directions for how to do that? It's much different than the other methods.

http://milonic.com/purfaq.php The paypal info is the 4th question from the bottom.
