I am most likely searching for the wrong thing, but here is what I need to do.
Menu A has 5 links below it. You take link 2 to a page and on that page you go to another page. How do I reselect link 2 since I am not using the menu to get to that page?

as this is a forum on the Milonic menu system and not on web design strategies, I would like to ask you to be a little more specific with your question. The idea is normally, to have the menu on each page - or as an alternative, to have it on one page only, but using frames or iframes to display any content. In addtition there are different techniques/strategies to combine information on the pages by the menu or to enable navigation information (such as highlighted menu items, open menus by url , different styles or even different types of menus on one page etc.).
Please see the "DHTML Menu" - and there the "DHTML Menu samples", Milonic main menu.(Click the logo)

Here's an example of what I want to happen.
When I go to

The menu is selected "DHTML Menu" >> "DHTML Menu Samples" >> "Table Based (Relative) Menus"
When I click the link at the bottom to download the sample

The menu is no longer selected. How do I reselect the parent menu item?

You could have implemented the Context Right Click Menu for instance

and there as it is in that sample, have the "back" and "forward" (Javascript:history) activated.

The menu listed on the page that I gave as an example is the menu I am using and want to use.
I just need to have "DHTML Menu" >> "DHTML Menu Samples" >> "Table Based (Relative) be selected in the menu when i hit http://milonic.com/download.php?sampleid=9
I do not need the menu to reopen at this time I just need it so when I click the menu it does the same as http://milonic.com/menusample9.php

There are two menus on that page, the one in the table does have the Dhtml Menu, MenuSamples, Table Menu 'selected'. If you open the dhtml Menu of the other green menu you'll see that menusamples and table based are selected. I haven't checked but it may be that the page highlighting has been turned off for that main menu of that top menu. There is a property called disablePagePage which will turn off highlighting on the main menu only. That seems to be what the green [site] menu is doing.

I have dynamic pages on my site that normally have a list all page, then pass an ID off to another page details page and my client wants to have it the same menu item selected. Say you selected "faculty/Staff" under the main menu "Our Company". You would hit the listing page for Staff. You then click off to the profile for John Smith on that page. They would like "Faculty/Staff" still selected.

Anyway, try the quick reference guides, in particular the item properties section which is under the DTHML Menu link on the main menu, and look for pagematch.
You can also try doing a search of the forum for that since I know there have been numerous questions about pagematching and dynamic pages and pages with url that have ? and other things in them.
