Submenus pulse on mouseover & won't display long enough for

Post by Carleton50 »

Hi,

I've been a user of the menu since about 2004 -http://www.zct.orgis running V 5.69 (still)

and I'm rebuilding the web site with Drupal. I had V5.69 working just fine here: http://www.zct.org/cms - but decided to install the latest version so I could get support, if needed.

V5.792 is installed on http://www.zct.org/cms.

Tested with Firefox and IE - on the site ( http://www.zct.org) running V5.69, the menus stick properly and allow you to make a selection.
On the site running V5.792, the sub menus "pulse" if the mouse is left on the menu, and you can't draw focus to the sub menu-it doesn't stay long enough for you to make a selection.

In both cases/sites, they are using the same data files (in different directories)

Neither menu has been styled although once this issue is resolved, I'll get to that bit.

Any ideas as to where I should start looking?

Many thanks,

Carl Underwood

First you need to update your tooltips.js from http://milonic.com/tooltips.js. Yours is 3 years old.

That may or may not help. I'm still looking at it.

I brought your code down to one of my servers. The only change I made was to call the menu modules, including the updated tooltips, from my server. There is no more flickering.

BINGO - That was it - tooltips.js was way out of date!
Thank you very much.

Oops - may have spoken too soon - works with firefox but not with IE.
Dosen't flicker, but doesn't allow focus to be drawn either.

IE version is 6 sp2 on XP home.
FF is 2.0.0.13 on win xp home

Do I need to put in tests for IE and handle that in a certain manner?

Hi,

I'm not seeing any problem with IE6 winxp pro. The menus seem to work fine at the new version page.
