Can Someone Please Help.....?

Please note that official support for this menu version has now ceased. There are still plenty of users, though, and the forum is still running. Some of our long-time users may be able to help you out.

Can Someone Please Help.....?

Post by ladywarrior »

Hi to you all!

I want to say THANK YOU for the script for the top menu on Dynamic Drive. I've downloaded it, and reconfigured everything I need, EXCEPT what I’m doing wrong on the last link: Contact Info. I’ve tried doing it as the others are, as well as the esample ending link on the original script, and neither work. Am I just missing something simple?!

Thank you for any help you can give me.

God bless!

Three things....
Please do not get your downloads from Dynamic drive. You are using a version of the menu that is no longer supported and is no where nears current. Go to http://milonic.com to get the most up to date feature rich version. And never again download from anywhere else but here! :D

Secondly, you are using version 3, and your in the version 5 forum. I'm gonna move the post to the correct forum. But its understandable, you're new to the menu, welcome! ;)

Lastly, to answer your question...you contact menu says....

Code: Select all

addmenu(menu=["Contact Us",
when your main menu says....

Code: Select all

,"Contact Info ","show-menu=Contact Info",,"",1
You see the discrepancy?

Ok, I'm back with one more question...

I converted my file from version 3 to version 5, from the main Milonic website. When I uploaded it, it did not show up at all. I'm ASSUMING the mmenu.js must be converted, as well, so I did that, and it still doesn't show up.

Am I missing a step here? I'm sorry to be such a pest.

The one that is showing now is the old version, just so it can be viewed....

http://www.key2myheart.net/rush/index.html

http://www.key2myheart.net/rush/menu_array.js

http://www.key2myheart.net/rush/mmenu.js

HERE is my CONVERTED files, which still do not show up. Yes, I changed my code to redirect to these pages....

Here is the site with the converted files in place:

http://www.key2myheart.net/rush/index2.html

and the converted files themselves:

http://www.key2myheart.net/rush/convertedmenu_array.js

http://www.key2myheart.net/rush/convertedmmenu.js

Thanks again for the help!

First, you're not a pest - you're simply a "new v5 user" ;)

Second, your 'assumption' is just that - and it's wrong! mmenu.js has nothing at all to do with v5.

Now, as to the rest of the mess in your post (sorry), I got lost in it all.

Did you read the new info files now included in the v5 download? They explain very clearly how to install the new system. menu_data.js (or whatever you have named it) is the only file that needs conversion. Three other files (explained in the docs) make up the base menu code, and must all be placed in the same directory. Doesn't matter where, but if outside the location of all your other site files you must also set the scriptpath item (explained in its own doc file).

I would suggest starting again and following the docs - 3 new menu files and your converted data file are basically all you need.

WHEW! Thank you for that! 8)

I didn't download the new version 5, because the site says it's no longer available for free download, and I don't have the funds to purchase it right now, so.............. I guess, sadly, I'll have to find another menu to use. None are NEARLY as cool as this one though.

Thank you so much for your help!
