Top Navigational Menu IV problem with shared borders.

Please note that official support for this menu version has now ceased. There are still plenty of users, though, and the forum is still running. Some of our long-time users may be able to help you out.

Top Navigational Menu IV problem with shared borders.

Post by cw_wd_riot »

I downloaded Top Navigational Bar IV from Dynamic Drive's website, and tried to use it in my website.

I use FrontPage 2002 and have shared borders on my website. (http://www.henderson.k12.ky.us/instruct ... /index.htm a link to it.) I copied the script in the README.TXT file into the body of the top shared border of the website so that the menu will be displayed no matter which page someone browses to. The only problem is that the menu is that small dot in the top left hand corner. It works, but is extremely small.

I developed the menu_array.js while it was stored in a folder called topmenu4 that contain menu.htm, mmenu.js, and all the graphics included in the *.zip file. When I got it looking how I wanted it, I inserted the script into the bottom of the top border and copied menu_array.js, mmenu.js, and arrowdn.gif into the same folder that the top border is stored in. You can get to just the top border by clicking http://www.henderson.k12.ky.us/instruct ... rs/top.htm. If you follow this link the menu works great.

Until I get the menu bar looking right, some of the links (such as conferences) might lead to a dead-end page. I'm planning on removing the left and bottom shared border as soon as I can use the menu.

If you would happen to have any suggestions that may help my problem, please let me know. Thanks.[/url]

Downloading from DD puts you 20+ levels behind as far as the v3 menu system is concerned. Also, v3 is no longer updated or supported.

I would strongly suggest moving up to the new v5 system, available at http://milonic.com/. Then, if you still have problems, we'll be happy to help.

OK, I've converted my 3.whatever file to the 5.0 current file. I noticed that it put an additional "menu" called Milonic Menu on the menu bar. I don't mind this being there but I would like it to be at the end of the bar, instead of being the second item. Can I do this?

Also, since I'm just testing this I don't have a license, yet. If/When I do get a license, can I take the Milonic Menu button off the menu bar?

The position of the Milonic link is hard-coded in the system.

When you get your license your number will be added to the registered user database. Then, when you download new versions, the system will recognize you automatically and send you the version without the links.
