Flying-Window-Layer doesn't fly when DHTML-Menu is on the si

Please note that official support for this menu version has now ceased. There are still plenty of users, though, and the forum is still running. Some of our long-time users may be able to help you out.

Flying-Window-Layer doesn't fly when DHTML-Menu is on the si

Post by acb23 »

Dear Supporters,

I want to have Milonic's Menu on a page AND a flying window (JavaScript moving a layer around on the page). But in Internet Explorer the flying window doesn't fly as soon the menu got integrated to the site. With Netscape the layer flies like hell - why not IE. (Isn't it usually the other way round - NS causes trouble you don't have with IE?)

If you like take a look at:
http://www.genobuy.de/online-redaktion/ ... _debug.htm

(it's a simple page for debugging purposes). For making life easy I added the JavaScript for the flying windows in the HTML code of the page.

My assumption is: As soon you got the DHTML-menu on your site you can't do anything else with other layers. But I hope that I'm wrong.
Please let me know, if you got a solution: abernhard@dgverlag.de

Thank you very much!

First major problem is you are using v3 of the menu (hence the Topic move) which is no longer supported and extremely outdated.

You'll need to upgrade to the new v5 series at http://milonic.com/. Read the included files as many things have changed.

Once that's done see how it goes, and come on back if you're still having rpoblems.

Thank you, Andreas. Kind words most appreciated.

We try and offer the best support around (matching the fact that this is the best DHTML menu around!).

You will find a LOT of great changes in v5, so make sure you check the docs. Stop by the v5 area if you need more help.

Dear John,

you were right - with v5 the window flies and the menu works.
And you're right - this is the best DHTML-menu I ever came across.

Have a great weekend!
Best regards,

Andreas

Yes, I am (who isn't?), but not too busy to say, again, we really appreciate the compliments.

If you have any other problems don't hesitate to post the the v5 area. We'll be there.
