Evrsoft forum

Post by DanThMan »

Does anyone got an idea what's going on?
I'll get "Forbidden, you don't have access" when trying to connect!
It's a great forum and I'll hate to lose it!

Well, at least I don't feel so alone now.

I've been having problems for a few days, but thought it was just me. Trying to get in touch with Andy right now.

Hang in there.

I think Dan was asking about the Evrsoft Forum. Don't really use it myself, but curiosity had me go check it out. I get the same "Forbidden" error. You might try their support form and report the problem to see wat they say. I'm sure you arent' the only one experiencing it.

What's the deal with 1st Page 2000... do you use that Dan? Is it any good?

Cheers,

Kevin

It's FREE. :) But, it is a good program, can be set for easy, normal, expert and hard-core modes. Its only real drawback is that you cannot do on page editing for things like image placement and such, it all has to be in the source code. But, it has a preview window which you can have open [kind of like split screen which you can size] and see the update of coding immediately, and it has a browser view which when clicked opens whichever browser in which you want to see the page. It has a customizable toolbar so you can delete a tab of things you seldom use. I understand, though I have not bothered with other things, that there are a number of 'modules' you can get for it.

Two young australians created a wonderful editor many years ago.
1stPage 2000. It was free and still today it has a very large fanclub.
The creators split up. Why? I don't know. One of them created a new
editor ( very similar by the way ) called HTMLBuilder XP which isn't free.
The other one kept the community alive with promises of a new version.
People were so pleased with 1stPage that they just wouldn't stop hoping
for this to be true. I'm one of of those people. I've tried every editor there is, but I've always gone back to use 1stPage. Even if there would be a new version I'll probably go back to the old one ;) The Evrsoft forum
has been a waterhole for me and many others, for quite some time now.
Now it seems to be dead and gone
For you who havn't been working with this editor I'll urge you to try it for a couple of weeks and then try to live without it ;)
If you can find it that is!!

Where??? Eversoft stopped just after I got 2000 and before I was done testing. When I went to get the little things you used to be able to add nothing was there, so I've just got the basic. I really love it, still use it.

I really love it too...
Always seems to end up in the old one,
but the new one has got potential!
Still a very buggy release though.

Thanks so much. I'm downloading now... :( 22 minutes on my dial-up!

If it's anywhere near as good as 2000, I will be satisfied, though the one thing I want no one seems to do .... make one like the old AOLPress which let's you edit directly on the page. I still use it for basic page layout

Do you know what's going on with the Beta as to new beta or something now that the old is expired?

I didn't do much on reporting bugs because I'm pretty downlevel on what I do when making pages and everything I used seems to work. The one area I would have talked about would be the design mode but no one seemed much interested in that part, and putting in requests for that which would be a lot of programming didn't seem appropriate in a bug report section. Anyway, just wondering if you know if a newer beta is coming out.
