javascript error using ie

my menu was working fine earlier today and i really have no idea when i broke it on ie since i've been viewing my page in firebird most of the day. the only thing i can remember really changing is putting in item styles for my "headers". in any case, i'm getting this error using ie now:

Error: Object doesn't support this property or method.
Code: 0

on firebird, the menu loads find, works great, and the javascript console has no errors in it. the only js file i've messed with at all is my menu_data.js.

any ideas? i found several other threads with this error, but those problems were using the v3 menu or the person was trying to load a new page into a frame.

Ran your menu_data.js file on the latest milonic sample and it worked without problems in ie 6.

You might have another problem on that page

You have a layer with an id called "milonic". This is illegal. You cannot name anything milonic because that is a keyname that is used throughout the menu code. Renaming it on my dev server took care of the problem.

Simple mistake, happens to everyone! Consider naming things alittle more uniquely to avoid problems with other things in the future.

i'm glad i finally had a simple problem, let me tell you. lol. i feel bad hogging up forum space with questions, but i really appreciate the help.

i'm glad my browser (ie, not ie. heh) at least was smart enough to figure out the css.

changing the class to something other than milonic worked, and i wouldn't even have thought of looking outside my js files. thanks herio!

i'm more the type to bug someone that i know knows on a chat program, most likely aim. forums are normally the place i go to help other people, and coming to this one with all the questions i have is more than a little weird.

however, if there are no stupid questions, ... *evil grin*

This is meant to be a help forum, and we do our best to keep it that way. We do digress once in a while, throwing a few fun barbs around, and that's fine. Hopefully everybody who comes here learns something, and gets the answer they're looking for.

Besides Dave and me, and of course ol' what's-'is-name - you know, the guy who wrote it - just can't remember his name right now

- we have a great group of users who add their knowledge to the pot. Makes this not only the best da... um, darn menu system around, but the most well-supported forum as well.

You said you help in other places. We hope you will do that here as well. Dave and I are users, as is everybody else here. We don't work for Milonic. Point? Join in - we gladly accept help from everybody.
