Mini-icons

Post by stephen702 »

I really like the mini-icons you have on some of your menus. I particularly like the little boxed arrow that points down-right (at an angle). Is there a place where licensed folk can get these?

There was some discussion a while back about starting up a download area where folks could contribute the little fellas. It kind of fell through (too much work with v5, etc.). Maybe Andy will reconsider.

Hmm, for someone who purchased couldn't they get permission to use specific ones? Well, then again I don't know if milonic made them or someone else did and milonic is licensed to use....

There's no reason why you couldn't snarf them from the menu itself.

Right click and then save as should do it.

We are working on a list of images that will be available as part of the Pro licenses so feel free to grab any you want until we can get this done.

Cheers

Snarf is a technical term we use for the following:

Borrowing,
Lifting,
Loaning,
Pinching,
Embezzling etc etc etc.

BTW - I mean the above in a very light hearted way and in no way am I stating that any of you are thieves. Phew, glad we got that sorted :D

In a nutshell, if it's on our site and you have a license, feel free to use it we're not selfish people.

Cheers

Ah, thanks - the lesson for the day.

Why not add it to the contextual menu...

Snarf doesn't work with pull-down menu images

I posted the original question because I'd already tried right-clicking. However, that doesn't work with the icons that are actually on the Milonic home-page pull-down menu itself. When I right-click (IE 6) on one of these menu icons, it just opens up the next submenu, instead of giving me the dialogue box with a "Save Picture As..."

Oh, a little thought here... :?

Pretty easy to go into the code, locate the path to the image you want, and then build a URL to pull it up on the page. For instance, the 'Samples' image is at /images/blocks.gif, so we can grab it with a simple http://milonic.com/images/blocks.gif.

That's a good idea. All images are stored in /images/ so if you know the name you've got it.

I don't think it should do that. When you right click (in IE at least) you get the Milonic submenu, the last option in that context menu is 'Disable This Menu'...check that to stop the Milonic context menu from poppin up. Then hover over the image in the milonic menus and the usual right click menu should appear, it did for me. ;)

Thanks for the tip! I haven't noticed the "disable this menu" function before--and wouldn't have figured out what it might be used for, even if I had noticed it.

Just out of curiosity, couldn't you just get them from your temporary internet files where they all get downloaded?

Yeah you could, but the names might be kinda screwy and plus people may not know they are there or where to look for them.

Hi guys,

I've got a heap of images I was working on a while ago, they're waiting to be organised for the site. I'll remind Andy to put them up over the weekend.

Well, get him out and tell him there's trouble (apparently) with some folks getting 404s when trying to download v5. I'm not having any trouble.
