How the heck do you get text links instead of full urls in the forum posts?

text links in the forum
Hey...
What happened to inkeeper9... did you stash her somewhere?
Text links like this:
Say you want to link to this thread. You'd write something like this: "You'll find instructions on how the heck to get text links instead of full urls in the forum posts in [url=viewtopic.php?t=3818]this thread[/url]."
Note that "this thread" is surrounded by the BBCode tags [url] and [/url]... I have BBCode turned off in this post, so that the tags will appear as plain text here. You can tag the text by highlighthing the text you want to make into a link, then clicking the URL button at the top of the Post a Reply screen. Then, in the opening [url] tag, add an = sign after "url", followed by the actual url you want to link to (sort of like setting the href in an <a> tag... no quotes needed)... I usually copy and paste the actual url after the = sign. In the above example, the text "this thread" would become a hyperlink to viewtopic.php?t=3818.
Hope that helps,
Kevin
