Hi Ruth,

Many thanks for your assistance - I will take a look at the links as I now need to change the span properties I have for 'font-size' and 'font-weight'

It now works!!

Ruth,

Please accept my apologies - I have just gone back to the page using IE and the error has now gone (maybe the cache just didn't refresh correctly).

Many thanks for your help and I promise to remove all the 'spans' in the other data files that I have and change them to 'oncolor' and 'offcolor ...

Didn't Work

Hi Ruth,

Thanks for trying :D - I did what you said and even changed other entries that used the span - however, the error is still there. :(

The reason I used span is very simple - 'pig ignorance' and 'brute force'!

The website that you looked at is solely 'bolted' together by me (and no-one ...

HELP Error Expected ';'

I'm using v5.746 with Firefox and IE

Firefox is fine - IE appears to be fine but a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the bottom right of my IE window informs me (when opened) that there is an error on the page and it is expecting a ';'

I have had a go at debugging and it points towards ...

Problem with Menu Highlighting

Ruth,

Solved the problem of the Index menu lining up.

Just out of curiousity I placed drawMenus(); after the Contextmenu script (and before the Top Menu script started) in the menu_data_index.js file. The menu now lines up immediately.

Does this mean it is mandatory to have drawMenus(); after ...

Problem with Menu Highlighting

Ruth,

I played around with the settings as you mentioned and couldn't get the highlighting to match on both menus. I've decided to change the links path to :

aI("text=  Jan  ;url=../main/functions.shtml#jan;");
in the menu_data_events.js this stops the highlighting of the ...

Ruth, thanks for the quick response - I did what you said, however.....

The Floating Menu updates but the Top Menu remains the same. When you click on the page refresh it then shows the correct highlighting. Any idea why it is still not updating? :(

Just out of curiousity what is the difference ...

I've beeen working on this all day, my brain now hurts and I'm starting to disapper up a certain orifice that I'd prefer not to!

I am changing from a 'three frames' site to a 'non-frames' site and I now have two problems which I cannot solve (I am 'playing' with the files under a different domain ...

Uable to remove horizontal scroll bar on Long Menu

I have tried to make the menu width large enough to get rid of the horizontal scroll bar without success.

I have tried using smaller text, removing the blank .gif spacer, wider menu item width, and even full width (although I couldn't make this work) without success .

The menu is contained on a ...

Since your first post I have also been scouring Google and have just finished.

I've searched under all sorts of different headings without success.

May be you're right and I won't be able to do this

Error Report on Website

Hi All,

I have been informed that there are error reports :( from most of my pages on the following website:

http://www.cumbwestmasons.co.uk/index2.html

I have a feeling that the user reporting the errors has Tiscali as the default browser. The error reports * Error:syntax error * Code:0 * NB ...
