It's that first slash
Having been bad at this myself for some time and falling into the ../../ trap for way too long, I just recently implemented this menu system on a new site and was again struggling when finally, after all this time, the light went on !!! Start with the /(slash), Start with the /, repeat ad nauseum. A...

M_maxWidth ???
I too wonder how M_maxWidth is supposed to work. Setting it has no effect on the width of the tip.
The code referenced in this post is no longer in there.
In fact M_maxWidth does only appears the one time in tootips.js.
Please advise how one caused the tips to wrap in a pixel or % of window.
Thanks

Abandoned the Menu System
I never did get the color problem fixed. I did end up liking this forum style and so got started on phpbb. And that got me to php-nuke. So now the hinsdale site is a php-nuke site. I found a visit there just now from someone who must have clicked the link in my post which now forwards to the new off...

Spaces in aI cause inaction
Unless there is something wrong with my editor (and there have been some issues), it appears that I can NOT have any spaces in the individual aI array menu listings. For example: aI("text=Eating; status=Find a place to eat;url=http://hinsdale.sallyanddavid.com/code/list.php?typevalue=Restaurant...

Down Arrow Call Vs File Name
Hi, I mentioned on another post something which seems still wrong at RC3: In vertical_data.js there is the following: topbarimage = "images/arrow_down.gif"; In the distribution there is no such file. There is a arrowdn.gif file. Something needs to be changed I would think? Thanks David

Script Errors Moving from RC2 to RC3
Hi there, Since I never found any info on how to move from one RC to another, I presumed I needed to move updated files to replace my existing ones. In my case I have been running with mmenudom.js, milonic_src.js, mmenus4.js and I use the vertical menu. But I did not replace vertical_data.js, since ...

Let's get back on track
Life is good off topic wise, but the original post concern is still there. On a Mac running IE 5.2.3, when the home page at http://hinsdale.sallyanddavid.com is refreshed or new code is uploaded, then first click only, the green menu color runs all the way to the right side of the screen, minus abou...

PC vs Mac revealed
Wow, who'd a thunk it !!! I made all the changes suggested by John and still had black text on PC and yellow on Mac. At first I thought it must be that the style sheet was not being called, but that couldn't be it, since the call to background gif is made there and the class calls were working. Then...

What OS and Browser
John, Opps!! After posting the following text I re-read your previous and find you already said PC IE6. So basically this is a silly post. Sorry. Curious to know what you are running on your PC? Did you see black text with both IE and Netscape? Versions, etc?? Meanwhile I hope to straighten this stu...

Been there, done that (sort of)
Hi John, I respond in numbered order per your previous post. 1. I have moved from head to body the scripts. 2. The text should be yellow. I just got on someone elses PC last night and discovered it was black there too. This means the calls to my style sheet are not working on some platforms/browsers...

Still Green
I am at rc2 now and still have the problem. Further, I was reading thru other forums and found a comment from John that there are three required base files and then the user array file. Well I had been running all this time without one of those files (worked fine). I thought having that might fix it...

Still Green after all these days
I took John's advice and upgraged from Mac IE5.1 to 5.2.3. My OS is 10.1.5 and I will not be going to 10.2 for awhile ($$$). I still have the problem. It happens also when I use refresh (intermittently). I have not tried another browser, but will eventually try it on W98 box. The troublesome URL is ...

Further Musings
Using the aI image=xxx only ends up adding an unwanted leading arrow for me. So I played around some more. When I changed the subimage = definition from /images/arrow.gif to ../images.arrow.gif then I started getting arrows in calls from main directory and from calls one layer down. I have not tried...

Menu There Now
John, Ok, today I see it. Not sure why it wasn't there yesterday. And now finally I have read your post below enough times that I see what you do that I don't do which is making the difference. The key is you make individual calls to the arrow image in each aI call. I was not noticing that nor did I...

John, I will gladly send you the check as soon as you tell me where the menu is on your site. On my Mac running IE5.1 there is NO menu I can see at http://westcgi.west.asu.edu/sai/ I see a nice Student Affairs Intranet, and the status bar makes reference to some .js files loading, but no menu appear...

Menu Color Takes Over !!!
Using the beta 5 release, I have called the color green (onbgcolor = "green";). When I add a menu item or in any way edit the file then the first time I refresh the screen on which it resides, the whole screen becomes the menu green. I refresh again and it goes back into just the menu wher...
