Note that the code Kevin wrote is over 4 years old, and was not written for the current version of the menu. My guess is, because of the extensive changes to the menu code in the last 4+ years, Kevin's code is no longer relevant.

Your menu code is way down-level, and no longer supported. Please update to the current 5.822 and see if that helps.

Using the new link you provided, IE8 and FF3.0.8 I am still able to see all menus in the forum area.

This may take a while, since IE8 is brand new (and still basically in 'shakedown'). Neither Ruth nor I have it yet, and I'm not sure about Andy. Meanwhile, as suggested by M$, Compatibility View is the way to go

Hey Dave,
I'm sure you already know they have used images for the main menu items, and then dropped the subs below that. I have a similar setup here. While mine is not curved, it's the same idea - mouse-over the mains to drop the subs. Adjust each sub placement as necessary.
