I don't think it's that you can't use it so much as it is a matter of how could you get it.

I guess my trial version of 5.12 cannot be used with my license for 5.23??

Unfortunately none of the suggestions changed anything except for inserting a <br>. I'd really rather not use a <br> and have the menu just stay at 171px wide no matter what length the text or size the font.

OK, I think I have isolated one of the problems, but no real solution.
When I put the itemwidth in, the menus stop filling the viewport (as mentioned above). But the contents of the menus don't wrap in order to maintain the width I have specified. Here's the code:

Ruth: putting in itemwidth instead of menuwidth works to the extent that the menus no longer span the entire viewport, but how do I get them all te be the exact same width? Each submenu is as wide as it's contents. I'd really like them to wrap in order to maintain a consistent width ...

OK, so now that I have the background color of the menuitem set to a specific color, how do I get it to fill the entire width of the drop-down "container" which I have given a width to ( menuwidth=168;).

I have one main menu that will have various submenus.
Does anyone know if it is possible to make each submenu have a different bgcolor, or is that a global control (i.e. menu-wide)?
I tried inserting offbgcolor like this:

I have just been confronting those same issues in my first attempt to use the menus.
I think I may have solved the JS-disabled problem by using the <noscript> tag to serv a stylesheet that hides the menus and instead shows regular images. Everything looks exactly the same except for the drop-downs ...

I added imagealt= like this:
aI("url=http://www.milonic.com/;image=images/button_about_foundation.gif;overimage=images/button_about_foundation.gif;imagealt=About the Foundation;");

But it doesn't show the text in IE 6, nor does a screen reader (HomePage Reader) read it. Do I have the syntax correct ...

Does anybody know if it's possible to add alt text the images used for the main menu (not necessarily the submenus)?

I am working on a layout that relies more heavily on CSS for layout and the menus seem to be aligning properly thus far. I will post that when I am finished.
