Well,

I was using a table implementation of the menu and i just had to put the
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/openmenusbyurl.js"></script> call AFTER i had called the menu build for the main menu.

Subemnus not moving with parent menu when window scroleed or

Hi there,

I used the openmenubyurl.js file to open some menus on page load. Works great. However, my users noticed that when they resized the window or scrolled the page, The menu was floating where it appeared. If i rollover it and reload it is in the right position.

Multiple menus on one page issues

I have a top menu and a side menu on the same page.
I thought i had it worked out, as per the instruction on this site, but for soem reason, the side menu is aligning on the right side of the screen instead of the left.

HELP! Menudisplay not working [SOLVED]

Hey there,

I am trying to have a submenu open when you load a certain group of pages on my site.

I have tried everything i can think of..and the fucntions that have been provided on this forum all comeBack null when i use the menuName.


THoughts?

UPDATE: I was able to get it to work using that ...

SOLVED

Well it tunrs out...it has something to do with the transparency filter and the opacity setttings i was adding to the menu..IN firefox mac, they were causing the flash element to disappear.

VEry weird, but i detect for the browser and then just use a 100% opacity and it seems to be fine.

OK i have tried as directed, but the menu still makes invisible the flash element in Firefox 1.5 on the Mac.

Unfortunately, removing the divs not only screws up my layout, but it also doesnt fix the problem.

Thanks codlord...sorry i was a bit tired.

THe problem only occurs in on the MAC OS. I have only tried it on OSX 10.3 but supposedly it also in 9.2 as well.

THe firefox version i was using, was 1.5 for MAC

Menu causing transparent Flash element to Hide

Hi there,

THe menu appears ot work fine in on PC and well on the MAC in Safari and Firefox, except it seem to make my home page flash element disappear in FIrefox when you rollover the menu.

My menu is finally looking like and acting like i want it to except for one thing..

FIXED IT!

Hey Ruth,

you are a lifesaver...

after a few hours sleep, i realized that i hadnt put it at the top of the page after the BODY tag and there was a few path fixes i had to make to a bit of the code.

Seems to be working like a charm.

Awesome Ruth.

I implemented as you mentioned and the menu certainly does stay put as the brower size increases. However, in IE, i am still experiencing submenu shift, the wider the browser is. Could this be caused by something in my global CSS file? I tried commenting the div#menu CSS out ...

Hey RUth,

It is almost as it fwe are looking at two different sites!

When i try the smaller offset...it jsut means the menu shifts much earlier. I tried centering it with the center tags, and it doesnt work for me, since all the content then starts to center!

at 800x600 you probably arent seeing the effect... the page is 760 pixels wide. when i resize to 800x600 using the developer toolbar, the interface is aligned left for me as well. And the navigation seems to be working.

What is happening though, is if you expand the window beyond 800x600, the ...

Sure..and while you are there...

OK...The site is http://www2.beta.hodes.com
go to the Global Network element on the bottom of the menu.
Rollover Core Competencies ont eh side nav and the Pick a country element will disappear. and the error will appear.

Hey Ruth,

THanks for the tuneup on the font weight etc; that made a lot of sense and works well.

I am still having the issue with the submenu call on that item however. I tried removing the whole br tag, just removing the slash, and i still get the same error about _gt.2 is null or not an object ...
