yes i downloaded a new version.

Actually since this all started my system admin turned off SSL and the menu has started working; and so it must have been something due to that. The network situation I am in is farily unusual and complex and I suspect that it must have been something interacting ...

tried encoding - didn't work

Ruth,

I am not uploading via FTP; coping directly on to the server via the local file system (network share). However, I did try and change the encoding to windows (it already way)

I also uploaded the files via FTP (in ascii) and its still not working...

I don't think its the encoding anyway ...

I have an odd problem; I'll try and describe it as simply as possible:

With the free evaluation (1000 licence version)
1. The menu works fine when viewing on the server
2. menu works fine when viewing on local network
3. menu works fine when viewing ssl on local network
4. menu does work external ...

reverse proxy (iChain) problem

I've encountered a problem with the menu in the networking enviorment our organization uses. The menu works fine locally, and within the organizations network. However, if you access the menu externally, it passes through our reverse proxy.

Ruth,

Thanks that was helpful. It dosn't totally help me but is a step in the right direction!

The closeallmenus function does close the menu, when the root item is clicked. However since the mouse is over the menu item when its clicked the menu pops right up again. I guess what I need, upon ...

No, sorry it was a confusing post. Let me clarify what I want, rather than what the problem is:

1. User mouse overs the root level element - child menu items appear
2. User clicks root level element
