Re: Forced link stopped working

Yes, Andy, I had thought about that and in fact we'd probably qualify as a non-profit. However, we're now using the Milonic menu on only about 8 pages on our site since we moved most of the site to WordPress, so it doesn't seem worth the effort.

Peter

Re: Forced link stopped working

Thanks for the suggestion, Andy. Even though I have Disable Cache selected in Firefox 3, it is still not working. This might be something for the programmers to put the checking mechanism earlier in the .js src file. I can watch it load and display Home and then see it change to Milonic. If the chec...

Forced link stopped working

For some reason I can't fathom, the forced link has stopped working on one of my pages and I'm getting the Milonic instead of Home in the menu. I'm using 5.831. The page is http://www.peterwade.com/colossians/index.html Other pages using the same code in the footer are still working, e.g. http://pet...

background color changes in IE

I have in the last couple of days changed the appearance of my menu (http://peterwade.com). I have set offbgcolor="#0090C2" and in Firefox this seems to render correctly. However in IE 8 it displays as a very much lighter blue. Other items on the home page in IE display in the same color a...

Re: Menu no longer centered below heading

Thanks, Ruth. I can see what happened. One further question: I've forgotten how to control the white space between each menu item on the horizontal level. It seems to be about 12px but I don't see that figure in the menu_data.js. I do see separatorsize=9.5; so maybe there is some padding somewhere. ...

itemOn

I'm wanting to make the first item of my menu to automatically show the submenu when the Home page is loaded (see http://peterwade.com/. I cannot find an example as to where the "itemOn" variable should be placed. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Peter

Menu not displaying

Thanks, Ruth and John, Yes, Ruth, I was confused... thanks for pointing out the obvious. John, I've left the Netscape in because my logs show I still have some visitors using Netscape 4... though only a very small percentage of the whole. Its working beautifully now at http://peterwade.com/menutest2...

Menu not displaying

Ruth, I've got myself into knots again. I've uploaded 5.774 which just came out, and made some changes to menu_data.js. The designer wanted to go back to a single color background for the main menu and sub menus, and I've done this and tried your copyOf suggestion for the submenus, but obviously hav...

Menu not displaying

Thanks, Ruth, for such a complete reply.

I will work my way through all of that, and adjust accordingly. It has turned out to be a good exercise. I like your easier way of doing menu item colors.

Peter

Menu not displaying

Well, I've made some advances and the results can be viewed at... http://www.peterwade.com/menutest.html There are a few issues remaining: 1. I can't seem to center the whole menu over the 760 pixels. 2. In order to get the main menu items spaced across the page evenly I've had to fiddle with the se...

Menu not displaying

Thanks for the reply, John.

However, the menu currently on the site might be old, but the one I am developing on my test system is already 5.773. So that's already taken care of.

I already have the menu in operation at http://peterwade.com in the right- hand column. I'm trying to develop it with the latest version as a horizontal menu but cannot get the menu to display at all on my test system. It seems the separate file used on my site called main_menu.js is now incorporate...

Part of menu data not displaying

Hi, We will need the page to see what's up since nothing in the data file looks wrong. Ruth Well, Ruth, good to know I'm not going stupid... at least the data file is right. I'm not sure which page you are referring to... the menu displays at http://peterwade.com/ on every page, running under PHPNu...
