Milonic JavaScript Menu

Hello,
for the menu named : "Menus built entirely from images" (http://www.milonic.com/menusample18.php).
I have a small bug in Safari for mac and even Safari for pc. There's a white space between each menu items. I need to pull it out.
I tried to find a solution and a topic on it, nothing. Does ...

I realise how this question can be stupid and I'm sure it is explain somewhere but I don't find it. So please be indulgent...

I'd like to have a menu name highlighted when I open the first page of the site. By default the site open already in one section.

What do I have to specify ti make a menu ...
