The Sub menu names have to be different. Each of those are menus themselves. If they share the same name, then you have a conflict and the menus won't show.

NEW pre-release BUG - no menus show - [SOLVED]

EDIT: The newest pre-release, released late today solves the bug in the earlier release.

Thank you Milonic for the quick response.

Loaded new pre-release and now there are no menus. Please confirm.

Using FF 2.0 and IE7

NEW BUG? Can someone confirm.

CLICK on the tree menu to the right as follows:

PAGE 02
PAGE 03
PAGE 04
PAGE 02

The first 3 clicks open the correct menu. The forth click, back to PAGE 02, fails to open the PAGE 02 when the pre-release is used. It opens correctly when the current release is used. Please confirm.

Is it possible to use the treemenu and the API together?

I am trying to change the background image on an item when the user clicks. This works. But when a user clicks on another item, the first item should change back to its original background.

_itemRef is a global value that is always -1 unless you a menu item is active in which case it is the reference number to the menu item.

It's all pretty much automatic

The opening page and section has the tree mnu that has the clickbgimage and clickcolor values set. As you can see they are not working as the original poster described. Thats what I also need.

Try this - add the global buildAfterLoad=true; TO THE TOP of your menu data file. This will build the menus after the page has loaded and the div tags are created.

If you have the capability, ie permissions, you may want to log in to your bug report and change the priority and severity levels. It might get someones attention.

In example 3: I moved treemenu.js as suggested. The result is the same. I am also not sure why IE will not display the second menu.
