correct me if i am wrong...
i made this modification, but still got errors "expected }" until i additionally added another }, immediately after the "catch(error){}" in your fix.

Your example of how to make submenus pop up in other frames seems to work just fine, though when i used your regular menu (for example the one available from dynamicdrive.com), the main menu page says i should be able to just add target=framex (example: "http://www.dynamicdrive.com target=framex ...
