Having problems with DHTML Menu? There is usually somebody here who knows the answer.

To Kevin: Your Libraries with Menu 5.0

Hi Kevin,

Are your libraries (Files kc_.....js) still running with the new version of the menu system? Do you have updated versions?

cheers

Just FYI, I posted a note earlier that Kevin is off-board until the 23rd.

Most of the ones he made were for version 3 of the menu. He has upgraded a few, like the flash script to hopefully work better with the new version. But don't take my word for it. Also, as we create new little helper scripts for the menu, we are trying to name them with a mm_ prefix, so if you see one that begins with mm_, chances are we've thought it up for use with v5 of the Milonic DHTML Menu.

Oh that makes me wonder, maybe we should have a library or sorts for just helper snippets that work with the code that you can just copy and paste into your code to 'plug it in'. Hmmm... ;)

Maybe when we start to re-organize the forum we can do it. Or maybe put it on the main site. We'll see....that is, if we even decide to do it.

Thats right one of my two newfs, pictured when he was 4 months old. At the moment he's 4 years old and about 75 kg's and the kindest creature in the world. :D
My second newf is only 20 months but he is already passed the other one in size 8O

Absolutely, the 'gentle giant'. A great animal, especially around kids. My ex-girlfriend used to raise them. With pups, we had as many as 10 or 12 running around the place at once! Just watch out for the head shakers :!: :D

I thought they were the best, but now I have to say my wolf is the best animal I've ever had. He does have his 'moments', but for the most part he's at least as close and attached as a Newf.

Ok, I have to put in my two cents since this is a dog topic now, hehe. I LOVE border-collies. My parents have had two of them over the past 16 years and they are awesome. You won't find a smarter breed of dog. They are so gentle and smart. Although my dogs would jump off a cliff after a frisbee, they just LOVE their frisbee's, but thats there only fault.

Anyways, just thought I would add....

Hi Martin,

Nice to see you back on the Milonic boards. I've only recently updated a one of them: mm_hideDiv for hiding divs containing flash, ifremes, java applets, forms, etc. I also did another small one, called mm_alwaysVisible, for manipulating the alwaysvisble property programatically (also contains functions for opening and closing menus programatically, and for testing to see if a menu is open). I've got a few other handy functions laying around, some posted some not, but I haven't updated any of the other little extras I did for version 3. Which one did you have in mind? It might be easy to update if I haven't done it already, or someone else here may have something similar.

Kevin

P.S. I regret that I don't have a dog, so I can't contribute to that part of the discussion ;)

I believe I remember Andy saying he had figured out the hide div thing. He will (or already has) include it into the menu so that you can have the menu appear over practically anything in a page. Look for alittle more documentation on it.

Also, regarding little scripts that people have put together over the months, we are looking into maybe trying to put it into one central place so people can download 'mods' for the menu so that they can get alittle extra functionality out of the menu over and above what the average users want.

Must've missed it, due to the roar of the surf! ;)

Of course, there were only two and a half entire pages of threads -- don't know how many messages -- posted while I was gone. These forums certainly are active. Chow time... and so... also ciao time.

Functions or Dogs?

Post by Martin »

Hi Kevin,

Funny, i'm taking about functions and other people about dogs ;)

So, i used some nice functions like kc_openAtPosition, kc_openAtPointer and others.

To see it live, go to this site page:

http://www.brainware.ch/index.cfm?86A39 ... 2E1E93D4B9

And press "Seite per EMail versenden" at the end of the page (Means: Send this page to a friend)

Or goto to the startpage and move over the "news"

I wish to have it back for version 5.

Off course, i used the tooltip function quite often. Andy told me, that the tooltip-feature will be available in the future. This feature is really important to me.

Other customers saw the feature at brainware and the will have it too!

cheers
