I read a post by someone that said "I just renewed my license". I realize the support is only for a year, but I thought the professional version license itself was a one time charge
Can someone clear this up for me
How long is pro license good for?
As far as I know...
The license is perpetual for the licensed version and the licensed domain. In other words, if you purchase a professional license for v5, then v5 may be used on the licensed domain indefinitely. The license comes with one year of support, which includes guaranteed email responses to questions emailed directly to milonic support, and the ability to download update for your licensed domain. When the year ends, you may continue using the last release you had, for that version, on the licensed domain, but support will cease (which, I believe, includes getting subsequent updates). A "renewal" of the license is essentiually a renewal of support, including getting further updates.
All of this is, of course, my own understanding... I am not an employee of Milonic Solutions, so Andy will have to be the last word.
It's also important to realize that the support provided through these forums is free; not part of the license.
