"Overflow" for menu

I am using Milonic DHTML Website Navigation Menu - Version 3.4

I would like to be able to incorporate the scrollbar in my menu when it goes below my viewing window. Is that possible?

I see there is now an option in the newer versions called overflow.

Or is it possible for me to upgrade to the newer virsion w/o going through a complete redo?

It's certainly possible (and highly recommended) you upgrade. Yes, there's some work involved, but v3 is no longer supported and you get so much more with v5.

Does that mean basically starting from scratch or cutting and pasting into the new script?

Actually neither. See http://milonic.com/converter.php for a converter that will do most of the work for you on the _data file. Some tweaking will be necessary to catch up to current syntax, and reading to learn about the new goodies.

It's not that hard, and we're always here.

Hi John,

I think I'm on my way. I see I have to "hookup" the "gifs" and all those things other tweaks but I think I'm on my way.

What I don't know is, except for the "overflow", what's new from Version 3.

Any place to see a rundown of the features.

Ops! I can't find the "overflow" script in the new menu I converted from my old one.

Did I miss a step?

Well last but not least, I love the menu but.....I will acknowledge Milonic in my "Credit to" page as I have always done but will not give Milonic "top billing" on my menu.

It looks terrible and doesn't make any sense with the rest of my menu.

I love the menu but I work too hard on the page to start having everyone who have conrtibuted and helped me "splashed" in the prime spot.

Hi Wolfe,

I assume you're referring to the "MILONIC" link taking over the first menu item. If you search the version 5 help forum for "license" or "licensing" you'll see various discussions on that. What you should know right away is that the MILONIC link only appears in the menu under specific circumstances. There are ways to get rid of it:

(1) Purchase a professional license (at a pretty reasonable fee of $45).

-or-

(2) If you qualify for non-profit status, apply for and receive a free license (I believe there is a small administrative fee... like $5).

-or-

(3) Place a link anywhere on the page, where the href is exactly as follows:

Make sure to include the / at the end. When the menu code detects the link on the page, it will refrain from changing the first menu item to MILONIC (e.g., this could be a small, discrete text link in a page footer). Be aware, however, that continued use of this approach is also limited to non-profit organizations; commercial entities, or any other for-profit enterprise, are required to purchase a license.

I just have a webpage, not selling anything just got my Computer Tips & Tricks doc and other misc info. For use by friends and family only.

Where does that put me in using the "http://milonic.com/"?
