someone I was talking to said the submenus were "flickering" and moving too fast for them to actually click on... any ideas?

Rock solid and steady here (Safari).
You are a bit downlevel, however. You're running 5.47, current is 5.60. Note that we can only support the most current version.

No flickering here - works great! I.E. 6.0

Works in Netscape 6.1, 7.1 Opera 7.11, IE 5.5 with no flickering.
