Delayed back Image view (current releases & Milonic Site

Post by BTC »

Hi anyone -

As a dedicated menu fan ... I'm using current menu ver 57++ but I notice something and wonder if just me or ...

But we use the image backs like Milonic does on this site however ... between rolloversof ON/OFF images ... there seems to be a delay or even non appearance of the rolled ON back image leaving a dead space with text floating ...

I'm just wondering aside from image files sizes (which I cpress the hell out of), if there is anything I should know beside slow net connections (though on DSL here)

THANKS ....
Michael

They seem to be taking time to load. Try using preloadmenuimages.js

I'm also looking for a post about setting it so the menu didn't show up until the page was fully loaded. Though I still think you'll need the preloadmenuimages.js file. You have so many images loading on the page that i think it's just taking time for the menu bg images to get loaded, but the menu is ready to go when it shows up.

Thank you Ruth - Good Idea, didn't know that existed.

Can ask favor for us novice types ... do you have sample ... where image files names are listed.

In our case there are max 4 images, 2 for main menu / 2 for submenus.

And want to clarify where this gets placed... along with callin gup the data file - right?

Because we always tend to use the menu within table / layouts for center page justifications ....

THANK YOU !
- Michael

Also, ensure that you've got your cache set to "Automatic" in browser settings.

When set to "Every visit to the page" it will keep reloading the image.

Hope this helps
