Treemenu sub menus not working

Post by Brannmark »

Installed the 5.754 version of the menu, updated from the 5.746 version.

All submenus on my treemenu stoped working. The submenus open but the "link" of the menu items are not working. Tested the diffrent versions of the menu, and the latest that works on my site is 5.753. So anyone know why the 5.754 version would cause treemuns to not work correctly. I place my menus with relative positioning....

Can supply code of menu if needed.

Hi,

Di you upgrade the treemenu.js module? It's here if you didn't: http://milonic.com/treemenu.js

If if still fails, please let us have a URL and we'll get right onto it.

Regards,

Exact same problem here. Working on a corporate website that is not yet live where this problem can be viewed: http://www.technic.net/index.php?main_page=printers

Note submenu items are no longer visible. Source available. Thanks in advance for any input/help.

EDIT: Latest treemenu.js (from above) installed.

Hi,

I've given the info to Andy. It has something to do with it being in a table relative positioned.

Hi,

No nothing yet, Andy's working on it. It seems to have something to do with positioning the menu relatively. Is there any way for you to absolutely position the menu for now while they work on fixing the problem?

Unfortunately I cannot use it with absolute positioning. I guess I will have to use an older version of the menu in the meantime.

Why have you removed the copyright statement from treemenu.js? I cannot see what version you are running now.

One of the guys here was trying to fix the bug and worked on the code, and removed it because of his changes. The official new treemenu module from you guys is working w/ the latest Milonic menu, and we are now using your version w/ copyright intact. Thanks for fixing the bug and both he and I apologize for his removal of the copyright.

Glad you got it fixed and no worries about the copyright. It makes it very difficult to debug the menu as we have no idea what version you are using when important information has been removed.

I think we spoke to soon :? . We've been busy coding other things, and just had a chance to really test the treemenu module again. There is still a problem or conflict between multiple menus or levels of menus. Although the treemenu is now visible, there seems to be a z-index problem. When a treemenu is expanded, it blocks the display of the top menu (regular horizontal type). Please follow the link below and the following directions to see the problem:

http://www.technic.net/index.php?main_page=index

- Hover over "Equipment" to expand top menu
- Click to select "Printers"
- "Printers" page now loads, and "Printers" treemenu expands
- Hover over "Equipment" or "Services" on top menu again to see how the top menu is now blocked by the treemenu.

Please note again that in the source code, "sidemenu.js" is actually the latest Milonic "treemenu.js" module. Thanks in advance for looking into this.

Well, sort of. We're using an old version of treemenu with the latest (I think) version of Milonic. Seems to be okay I guess, but don't know if we're missing anything by using an old version of treemenu.

The latest treemenu doesn't work with the latest version of Milonic menu. The combination that works (as seen on the site) is:

treemenu v1.23 (04/06/06)
Milonic v5.759 (09/21/06)

We haven't been working on this client's site cuz they asked us to wait, but now we're active working on it again and would appreciate any support. Thanks.

Hi,

Do you have a test page up where we can see the newest treemenu Version 1.24 - September 4 2006 with the newest menu Version 5.762 so we can see what's going on?

I will put up the latest versions you requested on the same URL http://www.technic.net/index.php Thanks.

UPDATE: We didn't check in IE; everything seems to be working okay under IE with the latest versions mentioned above. Not so in Firefox. The previous versions we were using worked under both IE and Firefox. Thanks.

Hi,

If this is the live site, I know you're going to have to go back to something else so can you make sure there is a page someplace that can be tested? I am going to have to post this to Milonic and they will need your test page to troubleshoot.
