How can I hide submenu not just the whole menu

Kevin thanks for your reply, this is what i mean.

lets say i have menu that contains 3 entries for example:

News,Links,Other

my question is , how can i Hide the entry of Other dynamically ?
I have the need to hide entries according to specific user.

moreover, if lets say, under news we have 6 sub entries , is it possibole to hide some of them dynamically ?
