text wrap with Mac

Please note that official support for this menu version has now ceased. There are still plenty of users, though, and the forum is still running. Some of our long-time users may be able to help you out.

text wrap with Mac

Post by tshelby32 »

Need a little advice here...

My menu (version 3.3.19) is working fine on my PC (IE6 and N7.0) but the text wraps on the top level menu bar on my mac (OS9.2).

I have tried hardcoding spaces but with no change.

Any suggestions?

Do you want it to wrap or not? It's unclear to me. If so, use <br> where needed rather than spaces. If not maybe you need to size your text down a bit. Also keep in mind PeeCees and Macs display things differently. Is the screen res on your test machines set the same (even if so, things will still be a bit different)?

And, as always, it's best to keep up with the current versions of the software. 3.5.05 is current, which puts you quite a bit back.

John,

Thank you...I did NOT want it to wrap. I think updating to the latest version has solved my problem.

Thanks again..

Dynamicdrive's version is 3.3.19... very old. You can get the latest release of version 3 (v3.5.15) here. Or, if you're just starting, you might want to download version 5-RC3 and give that a try.

In general, if you find that the menu text is wrapping and you don't want it to, then try widening your menu a bit and use &nbsp; (nonbreaking spaces) instead of spaces.

Hope that helps,

Kevin
