Fonts with Netscape and IE

Post by ASchrades »

Is there a common font that will format the same width between IE and Netscape 4.x.

I'm using verdana size 10 right now and the are off by about an inch on my website. IE formats longer.

Thanks for the help and this is a great menu.

Sure. The URL is http://webpages.charter.net/adamschroeder

I'm tested with IE 6 and Netscape 4.79. I want everything to line up one the right edge. In IE its close. I can adjust, but I got sidetracked when I tested in Netscape.

Thanks for any ideas...

Here is the font portion of the code if that helps.

"black", // Mouse Off Font Color
"CFD0C1", // Mouse Off Background Color
"ffebdc", // Mouse On Font Color
"D70000", // Mouse On Background Color
"black", // Menu Border Color
10, // Font Size in pixels
"normal", // Font Style (italic or normal)
"bold", // Font Weight (bold or normal)
"verdana", // Font Name
4, // Menu Item Padding
"arrow.gif", // Sub Menu Image (Leave this blank if not needed)

Sorry, I haven't NS4.79 installed on my machine. I tested your site with IE6, NS6.2 and Mozilla 1.0 and the menu looks perfect! It has the same appearance on all 3 browsers. Only with Opera 6.01 very big trouble.
I can also say that NS4.79 has enormous problems in interpreting HTML code and showing the pages in the right way so it can't be took as a standard for testing pages! Use NS6.2 if you can!
bye!
