Greetings,
I have found that the menu is flickering and falling behind Flash objects in Mac browsers. Here is the site and menu in question:
http://www.oberlin.edu/dormenergy/talcott.htm
When a submenu opens over top the adjacent Flash object (go to 'Individual Dormitories', for example), the menu simultaneously flickers and appears partially missing below the Flash in the following browsers:
Mac Firefox 1.5.0.4 and Mac Safari 2.0.3
I have no problem with FF or IE on a PC. An important thing to note is that I have implemented automatic ActiveX activation according to Milonic and Microsoft's websites using external .js files and inserted the call for Flash in a <div>. I have also specified that wmode=transparent for Flash objects as a parameter and in the EMBED source.
Thanks for your assistance,
gplatt
Flickering + behind Flash in Mac Firefox and Safari
Latest version installed, no change.
However, before installing the latest version I was able to access the menu in a public Mac lab and it seems that the menu has no problem in Firefox on most (but not all) machines, even though they all have the same exact browsers and Flash players... strange.
But the problem definitely persists in Safari: when a submenu extends over the Flash, the menu flickers and goes behind the Flash momentarily, and when you move the mouse again to another button this happens again.
Thanks for looking into this!
