Vertical menu display in Opera and Netscape

Post by leighbax »

Hi,
I am fairly new to Milonics, and have moved on to version 5 RC 25.

Everything seems to work as it should in IE 6.0, but Opera 7 and Netscape 7 seem to display the vertical menu wrongly. The menuitem and menuwidth are both set to 60 pixels, and this produces a fixed width menu in IE 6, but Opera and Netscape show a menu that is wider than the item width, with an odd gap on the right, Opera 7 also shows ugly wide separator bars between the items when the mouse moves over the menu.

Are these fixable, or are they a "feature" of these browsers?

My licensed website is http://www.rhyc.demon.co.uk, but I am at present developing a new version of the site which will have the Milonic menus and testing it on my own homepage http://www.baxterlobs.demon.co.uk.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Don't use Opera, but looking at the page in NS7.1 (Mac), it looks exactly the same as in Safari. I don't see any of the problems you mentioned.

Thanks for having a look. It is a puzzle then, I guess the problem is with my browsers? If it looks OK from the "outside" then I need not to worry!
