Release Info

Post by jonathan »

I've seen previous posts regarding this before, but just wondered what the current situation is now.

It would be great to have some release information for each RC. I realise that it is generally a good idea to be running the latest version, but releases lately are coming thick and fast and it would be nice to have an idea as to what is fixed so I can make a judgement as to whether the issues are likely to affect me.

PS. I'm 'watching' the release topic to get emails on new releases which is a great method. However, am I the only one getting two emails each time?...one sent to an empty 'To' address (obviously BCCd) and another sent to andy@milonic.com.

Things are still the same. Releases/fixes are coming so fast it's just not possible for Andy to take the time to write everything down and keep up with trying to get this puppy to Final. We did try it for a while, but it didn't work. Sometimes a release is for just one specific item, other times it's a bunch of things plus some additions.

So, it's best to always keep up with the most current RC, and also keep your eye on the Quick Refs and Samples on the main site (Andy does try to keep those updated).

As to e-mails, that's still not solved. Some folks get 2, some only 1. Interesting...

OK. Thanks for your response.

With regards the duplicate emails, I administer a phpBB site on an Intranet and can't replicate the problem. Our system sends watched topics to 'undisclosed recipients'. All I can suggest is to do a search in your PHP scripts for the email address 'andy@milonic.com' or re-download the 2.0.6 as the only way I can see of causing the issue you're getting is to alter the PHP scripts.

I still get two also, I've been getting two since it first started months ago...however, that's ok with me, it makes it stand out in all the danged spam :) As to the RCs, I download and keep every one, until I'm sure that the newest doesn't cause a problem I have to get help to fix.

Confused

Post by jnewton »

Under Announcement: Current Code Release, I see that there is a new RC. I went to the link but the date on the "current Release" is a July 2003 date. I'm just a little confused, not a lot, just a little :?

That is just showing the date that particular message was initially posted. It is not the date of the current release. You will always get the latest release by using the link available there. Don't forget to log in to the main site before downloading.
