Wow! Final 5.03 is fast!

Post by bonewalker »

Hey Andy & team,

Just wanted to let you know that I just upgraded to the final version, and it is extremely fast!

You may remember my various problems from the pre-releases: I had tons of data to get into the menu...IE 6 used to load it in about 30 seconds on my XP 2.4 ghz machine, and over a minute on slower machines.

Now, that same data loads in less than 5 seconds on the same machine...this is a tremendous boost in speed. And it really makes me look good. ;)

Thanks a bunch for all your efforts and hard work.

Thanks for reporting that observation. It's one thing to say "well... it should be faster than earlier releases" or "it's supposed to be fast, but I don't use a big-a... um... huge menu so I don't know." It'll be a whole lot better to point people to this thread when it comes up in the future.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hey BW -

You lurk around in the background (something like your Avatar!), and then jump out and hit us with a really great compliment :!:

Thank you. Most appreciated :!: :D

Great analogy, John. :)

And also, great work on the menu. When something works well, recognition is important for those that put it together.

I had done my share of asking questions on this forum, and when I saw the final version work so well, I just figured it was about time I thanked someone.

Way to go.

Thanks again.

Remember - all the credit goes to Andy. This puppy came out of his noggin (scary, eh?), and he is solely responsible for all the ideas, fixes, improvements - and, of course, the final.

We just hang out in front and take the spotlight... :D
