I have some ideas but I can't understand how to realise them:
Now we can see menu like this:

And ^^ this space(s) will be unvisible (transporent) and we can change it size from menu_array.js
for example:

timegap=500
followspeed=5
followrate=40
suboffset_top=10;
suboffset_left=10;
space=15
------------------------
^^^^^^ size of space
sorry but your example is not at all clear. In addition you can change the spacing in the menu cells with the padding variable in the properties array.
