Two items highlighted?

Post by agentstarks »

I have a menu set up and two items are highlighted by default. The 'Home' button, which should be becuause that's where you start. The 'WMP Structure' button is also highlighted. This only happens on the main page. If you navigate to any sub page it works like it should with only the parent highlighted. You can see what's going on here:

Hi,
I notice this is asp. Having looked at your menu, I'm wondering if the fact that you have the 'home' as index2.asp and the page for the 'steering committee' which is also highlighted and is the first one on the drop down for that WMP Structure as 2.asp is somehow doing that because of the asp? You might try naming the Home page as index1.asp and see if the Overview then highlights with the Home and that could give you some indication if that's what the problem is. You'll notice that the bottom menu doesn't have the WMP highlighted but that page is 2a.asp. Sorry I can't be more specific but I don't know anything about asp.

That's the weirdest thing. I renamed the main page to index1.asp and updated my links. Works fine like that. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

I think it has something to do with the index and the asp, not sure why. Just be aware, right now all the pages on the drop down menus that you have with a 1 in them are 1a, 1b etc. I suggest you don't name any of them 1.asp or you will probably highlight the main category for that drop down when you're on the home page which you've named index1.asp. Again, I don't know why it happens, perhaps someone with some more indepth knowledge of asp can tell you.
