License NOT working!

Post by Trite »

I am designing my universities web site but have to stick to the layout of all the rest of the pages, which means using milonic dhtml menu. I wanted the best, newest version so I came and DLed it and now I am afraid it is giving me more trouble than the update is worth.

In addition to my toubles listed here: viewtopic.php?t=5513 I am having trouble transfering the license from version 5.1 installed on all the other pages to the version 5.691 I am trying to install. When I paste it over to the new mmenudom.js file the menu just dissapears whenever I load the page with the menu.

Is this because the versions are different or does it somehow detect the domain that it is on to authenticate the license... or something else?

Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it.

H Trite,
You need to be logged in when you download the menu and it will give you the correct licensed version, and you need to upload the 3 files since they are updated together, so you can't mix those files from different versions. Can you give a url to the site, or the test page so we can see what's happening with the other issues? Oh, don't forget to keep your existing menu files so you can use them until we get any issues fixed.

Trite,

As Ruth said, you need to log in to the Milonic site to download the updates. You must log in with the email address that the license was registered to (since you took over the site, I'm guessing that wasn't you. Do you know the address?).

Your license is for a specific domain. According to your source, your license is for http://www.easternct.edu.

Note the license comments specifically state...
//Please Note, Changing the license details here will break the menu
It means it!

Drop a note to marty[at]milonic[dot]com and explain your problem. She'll be able to help.
