Banner Ad Beneath Menu

Post by interweb »

I currently have the menu so it displays vertically on the left-hand side of my site. I have it configured so that it automatically scrolls down the page as the visitor scrolls through the page so it is always visible.

What I'd like to do now is add a banner ad or a "click to chat" button beneath the menu that scrolls along with the menu. Is this possible? If so, please explain.

My site is at http://www.EffinghamHomesOnline.com should you need to see my site in order to determine exactly what steps I need to take to implement this effect.

Thanks!!

Here's a post that tells you how to do that. If you need more help, just post back. One thing to keep in mind when you put in the second menu, make sure you position it so that if the person sets the font to very very very large in order to see things, it will cause the menu to get 'longer' so you want to make sure the second menu is far enough down that it doesn't 'overlapped' the bottom of the first when text size is changed.

Hi Ruth,

Thanks for the quick response. I looked over the other information on the link that you posted, but that just appears a way to add a 2nd menu.

What I'm really after is a way to have images appear beneath my vertical menu that scroll along with it. More specifically, I want to have a couple of image buttons that show beneath the vertical menu that will scroll along with the dynamic menu.

For example, I want to put it some code for a "click to chat" button. I'd also like to put a couple of images of different properties for sale. I would like all of this to show beneath the menu and to scroll along with it.

Is that possible?

Thanks

Yes, a way to add a second menu that is set to scroll with the first. I thought that's what you were asking. As to putting something and making it scroll, the only way I know how to do that is to put the items in a menu[s] set to followscroll since the menu has already 'done' the 'function' necessary for the scrolling.

Perhaps you could post in anything goes and someone would know how to do it with html and javascript.
