slow loading of menu

Please note that official support for this menu version has now ceased. There are still plenty of users, though, and the forum is still running. Some of our long-time users may be able to help you out.

slow loading of menu

Post by kristian »

hey,

this menu is perfect, besides that it now all of a sudden loads really slow.

when i load a page, everything on the page loades fine, besides the menu. but when i click 'stop' the menu appears...so it seems to have loaded, but it's not showing until i stop loading the page. check it out here: http://www.weezer.no/menu.shtml (the menu is to appear on the black horizontal line below the top logo and over the submenu with white background)

how can i fix this?

Hi,

Version 3.4.07 had a bug in that it waited until the page had finished loading before the menu appeared.

If you upgrade to version 3.4.12 this problem should be solved.

Yep, I updated my mmenu.js file today and now the whole page loads before the menu displays. This is annoying since I hide a simple HTML menu behind the Milonic one for browsers without JavaScript or with it turned off. At least it does finally display without the user doing anything special, but it looks like I'll be reverting to the old version for a while.

Do any of you have loadWait set to 1?

If so, that's the problem.

It will be in mmenu.js.

If not give me some URL's and I'll take a look

I just checked, and there is no reference to loadwait in either mmenu.js or menu_array.js, so there goes that idea.

The mmneu.js I have on my site is version 3.3.18, but the one I'm having trouble with is 3.4.12. I looked in the new version but couldn't find any reference to loadwait.

You are welcome to look at my site - http://mrgreen.image-power.com, and the menu stuff is in the /menu/ directory.

slow loading of menu

Post by shila »

Hi,

I just checked the mmenu.js file (version 3.4.12), and loadWait is set to 0 (on line 17 it looks like.... loadWait=0;).

URL for my site (with version 3.4.12, which is slower than what I had previously) is http://www.brite-sparks.com

Cheers
