Frames Using Version 5

Post by Lara Rupinski »

Is there anyway I can use frames with Version 5. We are not allowed to use iframes and our site is already developed using frames. Our current navigation uses a JavaApplet which we can't use anymore.

Followup: Frames with Milonic Home Menu Format

Post by Lara Rupinski »

Can I still have the nice look and feel (eye candy) of the Milonic Home Menu?

More or less I would guess - but you need to be aware of the design restrictions that are detailed in the above link.

Hi Lara,

The style of the menu can be whatever you want it. The functionality i.e. the frames set up has to be used if you want it to work in frames but you can use whatever style you want. So, you'd set up the 'main' menus with the Milonic Home Page menu main menu style, and the submenus using the sub menu style. I haven't looked at the style for the Milonic site menu, but I'm assuming that it has different style for the main and the subs. If the site menu is using the copy of method to make the sub styles you'd have to expand that into a regular style set up.

You might take a look at the Beginners' Forum and take a look at the sections on styling the menu.
