Help with resizing menus please

Hi Everyone:

Can someone tell me how to make each main menu a different size?
I can see how to make submenus different sizes; and I can see how to make all the main menus the same size. But I can't figure out how to do something like in the example below:

Home--->|Links|FAQS------------->|Contact----->|Downloads------------>|
(arrows for spacing)
