URGENT: Using the menu on a UTF-8 encoded webpage

Post by MUTU »

Hi,

I've put up a test page at http://www.gfi.com/props/pricelist.htm which links to the same menu as http://www.gfi.com/index_fr.html does. The former page uses UTF-8 encoding whereas the latter uses ISO-8859-1.

The former one is showing Chinese characters in place of the French accents. How do we fix the problem so as to have the DHTML menu work on both UTF-8 and ISO-8859-1 encoded pages please?

Also, if I save the menu data file (menu_fr.js) in UTF-8 format, then the page saved in UTF-8 would look fine, but the menu in the page saved in ISO-8859-1 would break up.

Hi,

Can you try posting at http://milonic.com/support/

There doesn't seem to be anyone who can answer your question here. Since you have a license you should be able to send in a support ticket. Following the directions at the page.

This was resolved.

The answer was to save the menu data file as Unicode.

Cheers,
